Gullikson, Kriek Leading the Court at Las Vegas Tennis Fantasy 2 Weekend May 18-20
Las Vegas, NV - Tom Gullikson, a former ATP player who captained the U.S. Davis Cup Team, coached Pete Sampras and beat Bjorn Borg and Jimmy Connors, and two-time Australian Open Champion Johan Kriek are leading the court at the Las Vegas Tennis Fantasy 2 at the Las Vegas Hilton May 18-20, 2007.

Participants in this three-day adult fantasy tennis camp will participate in a Friday night welcome reception with Gullikson and Kriek; enjoy Barry Manilow either Friday or Saturday night; receive three-hour on-court instruction with demonstrations from the pros and lunch on Saturday; and receive three-hour on-court instruction, play and demonstrations with the pros and lunch on Sunday.

Former U.S. Davis Cup Captain and U.S. Olympic Coach Tom Gullikson has earned the respect of the international tennis community both on and off the court as player, coach, commentator and columnist for Tennis Magazine. As a player, Gullikson reached a career high of #38 in singles, recording wins over Borg, Connors, Nastase and Edberg. He reached a career high of #9 in doubles, with most notable performances with twin brother Tim, with whom he reached the Wimbledon final in 1983; won (1) career singles title and (15) career doubles titles; and coached Jennifer Capriati from 1990-1991. Gullikson served as U.S. Davis Cup Captain from 1994-1999, winning the Davis Cup in 1995 with a 3-2 win over Russia in the final; coached the U.S. Olympic Team in Atlanta in 1996, helping Agassi to the gold medal. He currently writes for Tennis Magazine when not raising funds and awareness for The Tim & Tom Gullikson Foundation, which has raised more than $3 million dollars for the care and support of brain tumor patients and their families.Johan Kriek is a member of an elite group of tennis professionals who have multiple Grand Slam singles titles; he is a two-time winner of The Australian Open (1981 and 1982). His all-court game and foot speed carried him to 14 singles and eight doubles titles in his 12-year career on the ATP Tour. Johan’s other Grand Slam achievements include quarterfinals in the 1978, 1979.

US Open and semifinal in 1980. He was a quarterfinalist in the 1981 and 1982 Wimbledon Championships and a semifinalist in the 1986 French Open. In 1985 he reached the semifinals at the Australian Open. Johan was ranked seventh in the world by the Association of Tennis Professionals (ATP) and was in the Top 10 in 1980-1983 and again in 1985 and was in the Top 30 players in the world during his entire career. He has wins over many top players – Connors, Borg, Vilas, Noah, Agassi, Chang, Stan Smith, Arthur Ashe, John McEnroe, Pat Cash, Mats Wilander, Stefan Edberg and others. Johan teamed with fellow South African Kevin Curren to sweep the 2005 Wimbledon and US Open Men's 45 doubles titles.

The Fantasy Tennis Camp 2 Package, for $749.50 per person (double occupancy), includes three nights of luxurious accommodations; Friday night welcome reception with Gullikson and Kriek; two tickets to Barry Manilow (either Friday or Saturday); three-hour on-court instruction and demonstrations from the pros on Saturday; and three-hour on-court instruction, play and demonstrations from the pros with lunch on Sunday. Gullikson and Kriek will conduct a free one-hour tennis clinic at the Las Vegas Hilton May 18, 4 p.m. - 5 p.m. for Las Vegas Junior Tennis players involved with the Marty Hennessey Junior Tennis Foundation. This will be followed by a 30-minute Q&A with athletes and parents courtesy, of the Las Vegas Hilton. Space will be limited for the clinic. Thanksgiving Tennis Classic USTA Tournament Coming to Milford Indoor Tennis November 25-26
Milford, CT - USTA/New England tournament tennis will be coming to Milford Indoor Tennis in Milford, CT Saturday November 25th and Sunday November 26th. The 2006 Thanksgiving Classic Tennis Tournament Presented by The Player's Edge Tennis Association will feature such categories as Men's Open Singles, Men's 45 Singles, Men's 55 Singles, Women's Open Singles, Men's 3.0 Singles, Men's 4.0 Singles, Men's 4.5 Singles, Women's 3.0 Singles, Women's 4.0 Singles, Men's Open Doubles, Women's Open Doubles, Mixed Doubles and Men's 4.0 Doubles.

The event is United States Tennis Association sanctioned. Play will take place on five indoor hardcourts.Matches will be single elimination, best 2 out of 3 sets, with USTA rules governing play."There are divisions for all ages and abilities", said Tournament Founder and Chairman Todd Nicholson.

Former Top 10 Pro Player Tim Mayotte to Kick Off Tennis Gala & Pro-Am Charity Event December 8-9
Bloomfield, CT - There will be formal dinner party and silent auction on Friday evening, December 8th, at the Bloomfield Tennis Academy, Bloomfield, Connecticut from 6:30 to 10:00 pm. Business formal dress is required. The charities being supported are the CT Junior Tennis League (CJTL), the Greater Hartford Youth Tennis Association (GHYTA) and the Tim and Tom Gullikson Foundation. Make sure to reserve your spot, as seats are limited. Special rates available prior to November 15th.

On Saturday, December 9th the tennis festivities continue at 9:00 AM with Adult and Junior tennis clinics, Pro-Am, Fast Serve contests and hit for prizes throughout the day. Saturday's festivities include lunch and conclude at 5:00 PM. The event benefits three tennis charities. "We are truly excited about supporting the growth of tennis and being a part of building a stronger community in the Greater Hartford area with children and adults alike," stated Edith Morales, event director. Eric Morales, the Head Pro at Bloomfield Tennis Academy, will be on hand to assist with the Pro-Am. He has been as high as top 200 in the world and currently works with some of the satellite players trying to make it on the Pro Tour.

Tim Mayotte, from Springfield, MA, is the former world's #7 professional tennis player. His serve and volley game earned him the NCAA singles title in 1981 as well as the men's singles Silver Medal at the 1988 Olympic Games in Seoul. Mayotte has reached the semi-finals at Wimbledon and the Australian Open. He has won 12 singles titles and 1 doubles title.

New England Tennis Legend Tim Mayotte to Host Tournament Training Clinic at Milford Indoor Tennis December 10th
Milford, CT - Recreational to tournament level tennis players from all over Connecticut are expected at the 1st Annual Tournament Training Workshop with Tim Mayotte Sunday December 10th at Milford Indoor Tennis. The event which will focus on "The Attacking Game" will be hosted by Former Top Ten Professional & U.S. Davis Cup Player Tim Mayotte, Milford Indoor Tennis Director Jacob Kreimer and Head Pro Angelo Rossetti. The event is being organized by Todd Nicholson of The Player's Edge Tennis Association.

Players will have the opportunity to sign up for instructional clinics that will consist of 2 hour sessions beginning at 12pm. The final instructional session will take place between 2pm-4pm. The day will conclude with a Doubles exhibition between 4pm-4:30pm featuring Tim Mayotte and Milford Indoor Tennis Teaching Professionals. Lunch and refreshments will be served for all participants.

Tim Mayotte learned his serve and volley game playing on the public courts of Forest Park, in Springfield, Massachusetts. Mayotte played tennis for Stanford University in the early 1980's and won the NCAA singles title in 1981. Tim spent four years in the top ten in the 1980’s reaching a career high of #7 in the world in 1988. He won 12 career ATP singles titles recording wins over Agassi, McEnroe, Connors, Edberg, Becker and Chang. He also won the silver medal in Men’s Singles at the 1988 Olympics in Seoul. Mayotte was inducted into the USTA/New England Hall of Fame in 1996.

Jacob Kreimer, a native of Brazil, brings over 40 years of tennis experience to his position as Director of Tennis at Milford Indoor Tennis. He was a ranked top junior in Brazil and #1 player at Concordia College in Bronxville, New York which he attended on a full tennis scholarship. Jacob was the Head Tennis Pro at the Orienta Beach Club in Mamaroneck, New York for eight years, responsible for comprehensive tennis programming for juniors from age four to adult. He is USPTA certified and has been a coach, club administrator and ESPN International announcer who has had the opportunity to work with such tennis greats as Martina Navratilova, Ivan Lendl and Gustavo Kuerten.

Angelo A. Rossetti comes to Milford Indoor tennis from Yale University Adult Tennis and Summer Camps. He was a Tennis Pro at North Haven Health and Racquet in North Haven, Connecticut prior to joining Yale. He is currently ranked #3 in Men’s Open Doubles in USTA New England with his twin brother Ettore. He attended the University of Connecticut where he played Division 1 for the UCONN men’s tennis team in singles and doubles. Rossetti is USPTA certified , in 2005, won the USTA New England Sportsmanship award.

The cost for registration is $75 for each (2) hour clinic and lunch. Registration forms are available here or may be picked up at Milford Indoor Tennis. at Old Saybrook Racquet Club

Old Saybrook, CT - Old Saybrook, CT.-Former U.S. Davis Cup Captain and Olympic Coach Tom Gullikson received a warm welcome at Old Saybrook Racquet Club by Director of Tennis Mike Abate (pictured) on Saturday September 16th as they hosted a "Tournament Training Workshop" geared towards juniors and adults who participate in USTA league and tournament play. Approximately 75 players and 200 spectators took part in the event which consisted of instruction,exhibition matches and a courtside lunch with Tom Gullikson.The event also featured a guest appearance from 2006 US Open Men's Wheelchair Doubles Finalist Tadeusz Kruszelnicki of Poland, who participated in the event.

Has worked with Player's Edge Tennis Association President Todd Nicholson to coordinate numerous special events and camps with tennis legends such as Tom Gullikson, Johan Kriek, Mikael Pernfors and Tim Mayotte in Las Vegas, New Haven and Bretton Woods.

New Haven, CT -Connecticut tennis fans and players of all ages and abilities came together for the inaugural Connecticut Tennis Fantasy Camp at Yale University Tennis Center Saturday July 22nd. The event was hosted by Former U.S. Davis Cup Captain Tom Gullikson and featured WTA Tour Player Meghann
Shaugnessy, 2001 Wimbledon Doubles Champion Don Johnson and former ATP Tour player Lou Gloria from Orange, CT.

Louis Gloria of Orange, CT put Connecticut on the tennis map in 1995 at Wimbledon, where he qualified and won his first round match at The All England Club. Gloria also competed in The Volvo International/Pilot Pen in New Haven several times, much to the delight of his New Haven area fans."Louis Gloria was one of the hardest working players on the tour", said Patrick McEnroe, Davis Cup Captain and ESPN commentator. "He had tremendous drive to take his game to it's highest level", added McEnroe. Gloria reached a career high of #170 in the world in singles in 1995 and had singles wins over Yevgeny Kafelnikov, Leander Paes, Justin Gimelstob and Jamie Morgan.

2004 Pilot Pen Doubles Champion and Hartford FoxForce player Meghann Shaughnessy is currently ranked 9th in doubles and 85th in singles on the WTA Tour. Her notable wins include victories over Venus Williams, Monica Seles, Conchita Martinez and Amanda Coetzer. She was a member of the US Fed Cup team in 2002 and '03. Shaughnessy has reached the finals in seven WTA tour events, winning three. Most recently she defeated Justine Henin-Hardenne at the Nasdaq in Miami.

Since joining the ATP Tour in 1991, Don Johnson has been a doubles standout,winning 23 doubles championships, topping the ATP doubles ranking in 2002 and earning more than $2 million in prize money. Johnson captured his first Grand Slam title in 2000, teaming with Kimberly Po to win the Wimbledon mixed doubles title. Johnson partnered with Jared Palmer in 2001 to win the Wimbledon men's doubles championship. Johnson is the coach of The Hartford FoxForce.

Camp participants were treated to an exciting day of instruction, demonstrations, games, lunch with the Pro's and exhibition doubles play. The first exhibition featured a Pro/Wheelchair Doubles match in which wheelchair tennis player Mike Milano (Tolland,CT) teamed with Tom Gullikson against wheelchair player Dick Lane (Hudson,NH) and New England Wheelchair Tennis Camp Director Magic Lincer. This was followed by Former #1 ATP Doubles Player Don Johnson, who teamed with Foxforce player Meghann Shaugnessy to play Lou Gloria and Tom Gullikson in a set of exhibition doubles. Both exhibition matches were free to the public and helped to raise interest and awareness for wheelchair tennis and The Connecticut Tennis Fantasy Camp.

The event was organized by Todd Nicholson of The Player's Edge Tennis Association in partnership with Wilson Racquet Sports, The Hartford Foxforce, Omni New Haven Hotel, Crystal Rock Water, The Sports Association of Gaylordsville Hospital and The New England Wheelchair Tennis Camp.
